Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) has been established as a result of a bill enacted by Nepalese Parliament on June, 2010 at Rampur, Chitwan constituting two campuses under Tribhuvan University; Agriculture Campus, Rampur, Chitwan and the Forestry Campus, Hetauda, Makawanpur. The University Complex of AFU and its Central Office is at Rampur, Chitwan. In this regard, Nepal has high expectations from AFU such as that related with green revolution, white revolution and to help bring the improvement in the livelihood of farming communities and receive better benefits from the agriculture and forests. It is widely believed that this university will be instrumental in transforming traditional and subsistence farming system into a vibrant professional, commercial and an industrial enterprise so as to enhance food security and economic growth and sustainable development.
