College of Natural Resource Management, Marin, Kapilakot, Sindhuli (CNRM)

College of Natural Resource Management, Marin, Kapilakot, Sindhuli (CNRM) was established as the second constituent college of Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), Nepal by the senate meeting of AFU held on 5th of Baisakah, 2074. CNRM Sindhulii located in Marin Rural Municipality-7 Sindhuli which is 26 Km west i.e. one and half hour drive from Sindhulimadi, a district headquarter of Sindhuli. CNRM Sindhuli is the representative constituent college of AFU in province number 3, Nepal. The college lies in heart of Hetauda-Dharan-Chatara highway which has been proposed to be the new national highway named as Madan Bhandari Highway.

The opening ceremony of the college was inaugurated by the chief guest and former prime minister of Nepal Mr. Puspa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) on 3rd of Falgun 2074 by watering the flower plant and Mr. Dahal did the SILANAYAS of the foundation building of CNRM-Sindhuli. And later, Mr. Dahal inducted the class room by cutting of the ribbon and then addressed some speeches to B.Sc.Ag students on importance of agricultural education in the context of Nepal for about 15 minutes.

At present, CNRM-Sindhuli is running in the building given by the Marin Multiple College and the local government would be constructing additional floor for the next academic year 2075/076 soon. The master plan for the academic and administrative buildings is almost final and bidding for the building construction contract is going to be finalizing very soon. The college wishes to operate the classes from the academic year 2076/077 in its own college buildings.

The proposed master plan of College premises covers a total of 5. 5 hectare of land consisting two different plots i.e. 2 hectare land that has been planned for building academic complex where as the other 3.5 hectare land has been planned for practical farm complex which covers horticulture, agronomy, fishery and animal husbandry. More lands are supposed to be provided by the local government authority of Marin Rural Municipality, Sindhuli and Hariharpur Gadhi Rural Municipality, Sindhuli for fruit orchards, seed production blocks, animal science, fishery and staffs accommodation buildings. Currently, about 15 kattas i.e. 0.5 hectare land area has been leased by college for the practical purposes.

Unless and until the human resources i.e. DARBANDIS are approved by Government of Nepal, the college has been operated by its internal sources which is supported by central government of Nepal, government of province number 3 and local governments.

The college offers Bachelors level degree on Agriculture from the academic year 2074/075. Currently, a total number of 45 students i.e. 20 female and 25 male from the 30 different districts of Nepal are studying in CNRM- Sindhuli.
